In mid-June 2023, Jens, Frieder and Jasper planted the first test plantings in the Rehfelde forest garden using the syntropic agroforestry system. In addition to a 5-metre-long row of woody plants on the north meadow, the beginning of our “mothership”, “The Wild Guild”, a syntropically managed plant community with a 2-year-old sweet chestnut seedling in the middle, was created on “Pappel Allee”.

Even if the plants in the syntropic system were not supposed to bloom, no one could bring themselves to simply “decapitate” the beautiful sunflowers.

In the fall of 2024, the guild was given a browsing protection fence so that it can no longer be swept by the deer. The chestnut tree in the middle is still dealing with the late frost damage.
